Geo Racers is a really fun new game that lets you play Race Across the World style challenges without having to leave home. In the game, you must travel from Inverness in Scotland to Gibraltar with just £500 in your pocket. There are also two strict rules:
- You can’t fly.
- You must be in a hotel by 2 a.m. unless you have overnight transport.
This means your only travel options are walking, taxi, taking the bus, or catching a train. I've completed the journey in 3d 5h 6m 48.8s 2d 12h 53m 16.3s. That put me in 390th 252nd position overall. The time to beat is 1d 15h 7m 7.0s, which is the fastest time that the journey has been completed by anybody.
What makes Geo Racers so addictive is that the moment you fail (or reach your goal), you’re immediately determined to try again and beat your previous best distance or time. Each run teaches you new strategies and you learn a little more about where you have overspent (or where you could spend more). It therefore becomes a personal challenge to refine your strategy and push just a little farther and faster next time.

At the moment, there is only one route available to play (Inverness to Gibraltar), but according to the opening screen, London to Rome and Belfast to Athens routes are coming soon.
